Rock for Hope was started in 2010 by Rich & Karen Votava as a thank you to the city of Hope for saving Rich Votava's life after he was diagnosed with cancer in 2009. Thanks to continuing research, Rich's type of cancer is no longer a death sentence and both are dedicated to raising funds for City of Hope so others can benefit from the City of Hope's scientific advancements and treatment.
