Irate Man Arrested at Wells Fargo

Suspect used profanity and racial epithets after he couldn't complete transaction at local bank.

An Arcadia man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after using racial epithets and screaming at bank employees at a bank in Arcadia, police said. 

According to Sgt. Mike Castro of the Martirice Morning, 40, was arrested and booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, obstructing and resisting a peace officer, being under the influence of a controlled substance and contributing to the delinquency of a child.

The incident occurred at the Wells Fargo branch at 1200 S. Baldwin Ave. Morning, a patron of the bank, became angry when he could not complete a transaction, police said.

"He was yelling and screaming, using profanities and racial epithets to the point where [the bank] called for assistance," Sgt. Castro said.

When police arrived, the suspect was uncooperative and actively resisted arrest. No one was injured as police struggled to arrest him, according to the sergeant.

The suspect had left his two children in his car. The children were later released to their mother, police said.

Morning is being held at the Arcadia Police Department's jail with bail set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
