The list spans schools from Arcadia, Pasadena, South Pasadena, La Cañada, San Marino and beyond, highlighting the strong showing from San Gabriel Valley campuses.
   

• Rebuilding Eaton Canyon Nature Center: LA County seeking donations to plug cost gap (sgvtribune.com) — Arcadia residents can learn how Eaton Canyon's fire‑damaged nature center will be rebuilt at an Oct. 7 "From Ashes to Action" panel at the Los Angeles County Arboretum on Baldwin Avenue. County parks officials and architects are unveiling a fire‑resilient design and seeking donations to close a roughly $16 million funding gap for the $32 million project.
   

• Pasadena Humane Society seeks home for Honey the pig (sgvtribune.com) — Local animal lovers are being asked to help find a new home for Honey, a 100‑pound pig whose former owner can't keep her, but Arcadia's ordinances currently prohibit pigs as pets. Pasadena Humane is urging potential adopters from nearby cities that do allow pigs to carefully check local rules and be prepared for the space, care, and veterinary needs pigs require.
