• Voting rights group sues Atascadero Unified School District over at-large voting process (keyt.com) — A civil rights group has sued Atascadero Unified School District, claiming its at-large school board elections violate California voting law and weaken Latino voters’ influence. Filed in San Luis Obispo County Superior Court, the suit seeks to block future at-large elections, even though the board previously voted to move to trustee-area elections but never implemented the change.
   

• FCC Releases Viewer Complaints Over Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime Show; 3 Filed from Central Coast (edhat.com) — Central Coast viewers, including an Atascadero resident, were among 34 Californians who filed FCC complaints calling Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show inappropriate for children. While Paso Robles and Greenfield residents also objected to language and dancing, federal regulators previously ruled the broadcast met standards, even as national debate over the performance continues.
   

• Where to Celebrate Pride Month 2025 in California (visitcalifornia.com) — Central Coast Pride is bringing LGBTQ+ celebrations to Atascadero along with nearby SLO County towns, with community events running through May and June and culminating in a big Pridefest weekend June 27–28. If you’re planning summer travel, the guide also highlights major Pride parades, festivals, and family-friendly activities across California, from Sacramento and San Francisco to Los Angeles and Catalina Island.
