Two-night resurfacing project to impact parts of Rosedale Hwy this weekend (kget.com) — Resurfacing on Rosedale Highway between Fruitvale Avenue and Wear Street begins tonight at 8 p.m., with traffic controls but no planned closures or detours. Crews will work on the inside lanes until 5 a.m. Monday, then resurface the other two lanes in each direction Monday night into Tuesday.

(intelligence360.news) — Ross Stores plans a $500 million Bakersfield expansion expected to create 1,000 jobs, according to state and local development sources cited in the report. The project would add 1.75 million square feet of space, with the company planning to occupy it around Dec. 1, 2031.

Wreaths Across America seeks sponsors to honor 8,540 veterans in Bakersfield (bakersfieldnow.com) — Organizers hope to place wreaths at all 8,540 veterans’ graves at Bakersfield National Cemetery this December, but the campaign is only halfway to its goal. Kern County residents can sponsor a wreath for $17 through Nov. 20 using the Wreaths Across America website.

Victory Family Services Encourages Community to Become Resource Parents and Change Lives (kget.com) — Victory Family Services in Bakersfield is inviting residents to consider becoming resource parents, offering children in foster care a safe, stable home. Prospective caregivers can schedule an orientation to learn about the commitment, which varies with each child's circumstances and often supports the goal of family reunification.
   

5. Kai-loween: A Night to Connect (therunneronline.com) — Hundreds of CSUB students gathered for Kai-loween, a Halloween celebration built around connecting campus clubs through music and creative activities. Hosted Oct. 29 by Filipino American club Kaibigan PASO, the third annual event brought student and alumni musicians to the Student Union Patio alongside activities ranging from pumpkin painting to math problems for candy.
