Students Help Waste Management Crew with Recycling Message
Several Baldwin High School students worked alongside of waste management crews to help people properly sort their recyclables.

Students are working with the Waste Management of San Gabriel Valley to remind people of the importance of recycling. A group of students recently worked directly with crews. Our thanks to the waste management company for their news release on the effort which we've included below.
On Friday (Nov. 1), students from Baldwin Park High School joined Waste Management of San Gabriel Valley before school to kick-off the Clean Cart Challenge Program aimed at raising awareness about proper recycling by rewarding residents for keeping recyclables clean of trash in advance of America Recycles Day.
Together, students and Waste Management employees visually checked residential recycle carts on a block looking for those containing only acceptable recyclables.

“Waste Management is devoted to increasing environmental awareness and educating residents on the significance of proper recycling habits,” said Teri Muse of Waste Management. “In addition to rewarding residents for recycling right, this new reward program also empowers Baldwin Park students to become agents of change in their community as they help to remind residents of the importance of recycling right and often.”
Residents found to have clean, uncontaminated recycling carts will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one month of free trash and recycling services. Students and Waste Management representatives will conduct two additional Clean Cart Challenges during the month of November in honor of America Recycles Day.
