1 Home, 3 Other Structures Lost in Lake Fire
The fire, which has been burning for 14 days, has charred more than 31,000 acres and is 60 percent contained.

One home and three outbuildings were lost in the Lake Fire, which has been burning since June 17, the forest service reported Tuesday.
The loss happened in the Burns Canyon area and the state’s fire marshal’s Damage Assessment Team is continuing to survey the area for more structure and infrastructure damage, the National Forest Service said.

Firefighters made good progress on the fire overnight on the eastern fire line, working north and south of Pipes Canyon Road. The wilderness area perimeter were not staffed again Monday night because of the continued threat of thunderstorms.
On Monday, firefighters worked on putting out hot spots near the accessible parts of fire’s perimeter. Most hot spots along Highway 38 were extinguished. Officials plan to continue to patrolling the fire line along the highway Tuesday and sections near Heartbreak Ridge.

Officials on Tuesday are also planning to place firefighters in the previously unstaffed areas of the wilderness for three to four days to reduce travel time to and from the fire line.
The fire has burned more than 31,300 acres so far and costing an estimated $32.5 million. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
