18-year-old Running For Beaumont School Board, Hosting Meet and Greet

In an age where we're telling our youth to get more involved with politics, one teen is taking that message to heart.

An 18-year-old Beaumont man has decided to take action into his own hands when it comes to the local school district, and is running for the BUSD board of trustees.

Gunnar Hardy says he's running for the job since he can connect with the students on a level those who have been out of school for several years cannot.

"All of my life I have wanted to serve my community," Hardy said.

Now, Hardy is in campaign mode and wants to get the word out about what he stands for.  He'll be hosting a meet and greet fundraiser at Toluca's Mexican Restaurant, 892 Oak Valley Parkway, Tues., June 12, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
