2nd Round of Auditions for Pass Area Performing Artists' December Musical

'A Charlie Brown Christmas: You're a Good Man Charlie Brown With a Holiday Twist' is scheduled to stage in early December. Auditions scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at the Banning Woman's Club.

A second round of auditions has been scheduled on Oct. 5 for the Pass Area Performing Artists' 2011 Holiday Show.

The group plans to stage "A Charlie Brown Christmas: You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown With a Holiday Twist" on Dec. 9, 10 and 11.

Director Mado Nunez is looking for teens and adults ages 17 and up, organizer Norma Ferrales said Thursday in a phone interview.

Auditions are scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at the Banning Woman’s Club, 175 W. Hays St. in Banning, Ferrales said.

Participants are asked to prepare 16 to 32 bars of any song, and to bring sheet music in the correct key, or a CD with no background vocals, Ferrales said.

Nunez, who recently staged "Broadway to Banning" with the Pass Area Performing Artists, said all roles are open for the Charlie Brown musical.

"Character casting will be for Charlie Brown, the main character, a lovable guy, dominated by insecurities; Sally Brown, Charlie Brown's younger sister who has a crush on Linus; Linus Van Pelt, Charlie Brown's blanket-toting best friend and Sally's love interest; Lucy Van Pelt, Linus' older sister; a bossy, crabby girl; Schroeder, The piano-playing character, Lucy's love interest and admirer of Beethoven; and Snoopy, Charlie Brown's lovable dog," Ferrales said in a press release.
