City leaders describe a broader Banning 2030 fiscal workout plan, new management hires, and public workshops aimed at restoring trust after a civil grand jury criticized past mismanagement and the electric utility's steep financial decline.
   

• Gunshots And Screaming Lead Police To Cache Of Weapons In Banning, Gunman Arrested (patch.com) — Late-night gunfire and screams on Westward Avenue brought Banning police to a home where they discovered 18 spent rifle casings and an AR-15-style rifle, along with several other firearms. A man was arrested on suspicion of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, no injuries were reported, and investigators are asking Banning residents with information to contact the police department.
   

• MSJC, RivCo Supervisor Talk Workforce Development During Campus Tour (patch.com) — Banning-area readers may be interested that Mt. San Jacinto College, which serves the San Gorgonio Pass, hosted Riverside County Supervisor Yxstian Gutierrez to talk about workforce development, youth jobs, and internships. During a detailed tour of the San Jacinto campus, leaders highlighted student support, health initiatives, and new STEM facilities aimed at expanding regional career and education opportunities.
