'Armed And Dangerous' Banning Murder Suspect Sought

Meanwhile, the victim in the case has been identified.

BANNING, CA — A man accused of gunning down two people in Banning — one of whom ultimately died — is sought by police, authorities announced Wednesday. Police asked for help tracking down the man who is considered armed and dangerous. Photos of him are attached to this news article.

Banning police say 44-year-old Kris Kenny is sought in connection with the Friday night shooting that happened on Hoffer Street, near Hargave. Police were called by a victim's mother around 7:57 p.m. Friday to report her daughter had been shot, officials at the scene told Patch. Once at the single-story home, they found two people with multiple gunshot wounds.

"When Officers arrived they found 37-year-old Shanetta Dixon with multiple life threatening injuries as a result of the shooting," police said in a news release. "She was transported to local hospital where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries."

A man, who authorities told Patch is a 57-year-old, was also shot at the location. He remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Kenny allegedly took off after the shooting, before police got to the scene. Police said he's a transient and is known to frequent San Bernardino and Rialto. His connection to the shooting victims was not disclosed.
