Banning, Beaumont Cheer Squads, Bands Ready for Showdown in the Pass

The Banning-Beaumont football rivalry dates back generations and precedes World War II.

Over the years it's come to be known as "Riverside County's oldest football rivalry," "the War of the Wheel," and "the Battle in the Pass."

When the Broncos and Cougars square off at 7 p.m. Friday in Banning, players on both sides of the field will be ready.

So will the cheer squads and bands for Banning and Beaumont, as well as hundreds of vocal supporters representing each school.

Banning-Beaumont football comes around only once a year.
