The troop came to the San Gorgonio Pass in 1918, as a Sea Scout troop from San Diego, Smith said.
"They hauled a large boat from San Diego to the Salton Sea," Smith said. "They stored the boat and equipment at an area now known as Repplier Park in Banning.

"They soon built the Boy Scout House in 1920," Smith said. "In 1936 they added on to the building and now we have the full Scout House."
Troop 103 has performed thousands of hours of community service over the years, and graduated more than 30 Eagle Scouts, Smith said.
"Our troop tries to go camping or other function once a month or more and usually enjoys the local mountains," Smith said. "Fishing, hiking, cooking, rope work, first aid, archery, friendship are just some of the things we have fun doing."
Troop 103 is also trying to rebuild its Cub Scout pack for boys ages 7 to 10 and their families, Smith said.
