Banning, CA — Three suspects are in custody and a fourth is sought in connection to the murder of a person in Banning over the weekend, police say.

The suspects, all transients in the Banning area, are accused of attacking and killing a fellow transient at an abandoned home in town, then dumping the body in a field north of Interstate 10, according to police. Police have not yet identified the person who was killed.

This marks the third murder in Banning this year.

Banning Police Chief Alex Diaz says police made the grisly discovery around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, when the CHP was flagged down by someone who wanted to report a possible murder.

"Patrol personnel responded to the location and spoke with an individual making allegations that a body was dumped in a field east of Apex and Joshua Palmer, within the jurisdiction of the City of Banning," Diaz said in a news release.

When police got to the location, they found the person as described and blocked off the area, Diaz said.

"During the investigation, detectives learned that the crime occurred at a residence located on the 5000 block of Ramsey Street; that location was also secured pending investigation," he said.

Investigators found that "several" people had information related to the murder, and police interviewed them at the Banning Police Station.

Following those interrogations, two men and two women were identified as murder suspects. Diaz identified them as Maxamillion Bernard Eagle, Timothy Robert Dunn, 31, Megan Louise Dunn, 27, and Whitney Logan Absher, 28.

All but Eagle were located and arrested Saturday afternoon and booked into the Banning jail on murder charges following several hours of being in police custody, according to online jail records.

"Maxamillion Eagle is still outstanding and we are actively seeking his whereabouts," Diaz said.

Police asked that anyone who may have any information related to this case, or know where Eagle may be hiding out, contact them at (951) 922-3170.
