Banning Sportsman's Club To Continue As Training Ground For County Probation Department

BANNING, CA — The Riverside County Probation Department will continue to use the Banning Sportsman's Club as a shooting range for training, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors confirmed Tuesday.

The club, located at 250 Mias Canyon Rd., has been licensed for use by the probation department since Oct. 22, 2019. During Tuesday's regularly scheduled meeting, supervisors unanimously approved a fourth amendment to the original license agreement, extending the deal through June 30, 2029, at a cost of $9,600 per year.

The facility "continues to meet the Department's training needs by providing a controlled environment for necessary training exercises that enhance safety and effectiveness in the field," according to county documents.

The board authorized the extension without comment.
