Banning Teen Headed to 2013 Presidential Inaugural Conference

Tatyana Williams-Peace was selected from a large group of students to attend the Washington, D.C. event.

Tatyana Williams-Peace, a 17-year-old resident of Banning, will attend the Presidential Inaugural Conference in Washington, D.C. January 19 to 23, 2013.

The event, held in conjunction with the inauguration of the president and vice president, is an honor given to a select few students from across the country. The non-partisan educational event encourages students to explore leadership roles.

Williams-Peace attends Aquinas High School in San Bernardino, where she is entering her senior year. She has a 4.29 grade point average and is a member of the California Scholarship Federation, National Society of High School Scholars, and National Honor Society. Williams-Peace received the Presidential Award for Volunteer Service and department awards in both chemistry and foreign language, and recently attended the National Youth Leadership Forum at UC Berkeley.
