Beaumont Cross Country Teams Excel: Boys Win Second Straight League Title
Cougars win Mountain Pass League again, Lady Cougars place third overall at Thursday meet in Hemet, Beaumont AD says.

The Beaumont High boys cross country team captured their second straight Mountain Pass League championship Thursday during the MPL finals in Hemet, school officials said.
The boys team was paced by Scott Oseguera's second place with a time of 15:59.3 over the 3-mile course, Cougars Athletic Director Martin DuSold said. Zach Gross finished in third place at 16:07.9, and Doug Palmer came in fourth at 16:23.2.
Those three places, combined with strong running from Andres Vizcarra and Justin Coleman gave the Cougars a low-score victory of 27-34 in front of the Hemet Bulldogs, DuSold said.

The Lady Cougars placed third overall in the Mountain Pass League this season.
At MPL finals Thursday, senior Jazmin Romero finished fourth overall in a time of 19:15.3, and junior Alexa Gozzip placed eighth overall in 19:46.7, DuSold said.

Both teams will advance runners to the CIF prelims next week.
