Beaumont Man Suspected In Series Of IE Home Depot Thefts: Police

BEAUMONT, CA — A Beaumont man suspected of stealing over $1,000 in merchandise from a Yucca Valley Home Depot Store in September and more from a Beaumont-area Home Depot was arrested this week, according to the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station.

Arturo Antonio Navarro, 38, was taken into custody Wednesday when detectives served a search warrant at his Beaumont home in the 1200 block of Massachusetts Avenue, according to Detective Shauna Ables.

Navarro was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with a bail amount set at $50,000, according to the sheriff's department. He was due to appear in court Friday to answer charges.

Detectives serving the search warrant recovered the stolen Home Depot property as well as two assault rifles and two pistols, Ables said.

"He is also suspected of stealing from the Beaumont Home Depot," Ables added.

The Beaumont Police Department was present for the search of Navarro's home, and the Beaumont area Home Depot has also pressed charges in this case, she said.

"The Home Depot Staff contacted the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station to report the crime and request an investigation after the September 18 theft," Ables reported.
