Beaumont High Cheer Partnering with Chili's to Raise Funds for St. Jude's
Wednesday Sept. 26 is 'Tip a Cheerleader Night' at Chili's on East 2nd Street, where Cougars Cheer squad members will help the restaurant raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Beaumont High cheerleaders helped raise more than $700 washing cars Saturday outside Chili's in Beaumont, and they'll be waiting tables for "Tip a Cheerleader Night" at the restaurant on Wednesday.
Cougars Cheer squad members are partnering with Chili's to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., Beaumont Chili's general manager Erica Brown said in a phone interview.
St. Jude's is billed as a pioneering research facility for treatment of children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.

Chili's restaurants nationwide have a 10-year commitment to raise $50 million for St. Jude's, Brown said. Chili's restaurants are in their seventh year raising funds for the hospital, and they've helped build a children's care center on the St. Jude's campus, Brown said.
"We do this every September our St. Jude campaign, in every community," Brown said. "It's something we're passionate about, and we appreciate all the local support in Beaumont, including Beaumont Cheer.

"Those young ladies were helping out so much on the car wash, and we're looking forward to their support again tomorrow," Brown said Tuesday evening.
The car wash Saturday raised $727, Beaumont Cheer booster Alicia Torres said.
"We hope people will come out Wednesday and with this good cause," Torres said.
Kristy Lane is this year's Varsity and Junior Varsity cheer coach, Torres said.
Beaumont Cheer will be waiting tables from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 26. The Chili's in Beaumont is at 1490 E. 2nd St.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is ranked among the best pediatric cancer hospitals in the country, according to St. Jude's officials, and it is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children.
