Dramatic aerial footage shows the man standing in the middle of the freeway.

The 215 freeway was temporarily closed Monday morning in the San Bernardino area as a police pursuit culminated in the apprehension of a chase suspect who was literally on the edge of jumping.

The chase started near Cabazon when at about 8 a.m., Riverside County sheriff's deputies went to the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa in at the request of Morongo tribal police to help with a "suspicious vehicle," said Riverside County sheriff's Deputy Mike Vasquez.

While en route to the casino property, deputies ran a computer check on the Toyota Camry and learned that it had been reported stolen, Vasquez said. Deputies arrived as the car was being driven away and tried to make a traffic stop, but the driver kept going.
