California Chrome ~ Belmont Park, that Distance 1.5, oh . . . and that Turn

California Chrome ~ Belmont Park, that Distance, oh . . . and that last 1/4 Mile . . . and that Turn ~ I have been at Belmont many times for the "Test of Champions" to see the horse ~ that was suppose to win, not make that last quarter turn.  It is heartbreaking.

I have been at the track when it's been raining, and I bet on the mudder, because those horses love running in the rain, and they make the length of the track, the track 1.5 mile does not distract them.  Today there is no rain, and California Chrome has his breathing strip on so he is set to go. The momentum is behind him, and the history is behind him, his lineage, though distant lineage, Nearco and Northern Dancer. Nearco, and Northern Dancer, Northern Dancer went on to be one of the most successful sire of the 20th Century.  California Chrome has the emotional momentum, however I needed to check history, so I checked, and saw that his lineage came from Northern Dancer, and somehow . . .  I have a bit more confidence going into this afternoon race, less than an hour off now.

Oh that turn . . . California Chrome
deserves the win, deserves the 146th Belmont Stakes if he can pull that 1/4 mile.  Pretend you are driving your car, and you are on empty, you know you should have put gas in your car, you just didn't . . . I can feel this race, like I said I have been there, seen it.  So like most of you, I will be watching this race, wishing I was home in New York, [second home].  Californian native, I am waiting for him to bring this "Triple Crown" home to California.
