Candidate Filing Deadline For Banning School, Beaumont Library & Cabazon Water Districts Nearing

There are several elections in Riverside County in the Nov. 7 general election.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Anyone interested in running for offices in the Nov. 7 general election may file papers for candidacy until 5 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 11). If an incumbent fails to file, the deadline is extended for that office, for non-incumbents only, to 5 p.m. on Aug. 16.

The following special districts and school districts have open seats:

Edgemont Community Services District
Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District
Tenaja Community Services District
Beaumont Library District
Palo Verde Valley Library District
Desert Recreation District – Divisions 1 & 4
Home Gardens Sanitary District
Valley Sanitary District
Cabazon Water District
Chiriaco Summit Water District
Home Gardens County Water District
Pinyon Pines County Water District

School Districts
Banning Unified School District – Trustee Areas 1 & 5
Palo Verde Unified School District

The Registrar of Voters’ staff is available to help prospective candidates complete the necessary paperwork and to answer questions. Candidates unsure about the local district offices for which they are eligible, based on residency, should contact the Registrar of Voters office for help. Candidates will receive informational handbooks at the time they obtain their papers.
