Candidate Filing Deadline is Friday, Aug. 12, for School Board, Special District Elections
Kari Verjil, the Registrar of Voters for Riverside County, issued a reminder Wednesday that the deadline is Friday. Nov. 8 elections are scheduled for the Banning Unified School District, the Beaumont Library District, and the Cabazon Water District.

Anyone interested in running for school district or special district office in the Nov. 8 election may file papers for candidacy until 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, the Riverside County's registrar of voters announced Wednesday.
If an incumbent fails to file, the deadline is extended for that office, for non-incumbents only, to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, Registrar of Voters Kari Verjil said.
Nov. 8 elections are scheduled for the Banning Unified School District, the Beaumont Library District, and the Cabazon Water District, Verjil said in a phone interview.

Nine candidates have filed for three seats that will be contested for the Banning Unified School District board, Verjil said.
One candidate has filed so far for two seats on the Beaumont Library District board, and three candidates have filed to run for two seats on the Cabazon Water District board, according to registrar records.
