City Of Banning Accepting Applications For Commission Seats
Five seats on the Planning Commission and two on the Parks & Recreation Commission are available.

BANNING, CA ā The City of Banning could see a whole new set of faces on its Planning Commission come February, and its Parks and Recreation Commission is expected to see changes too.

The city is currently accepting applications to fill five seats on the Planning Commission and two on its Parks & Recreation Commission.

Two of the selected planning commissioners will serve beginning February 1, 2021 through January 31, 2025 and three of those selected will serve February 1, 2021 through January 31, 2023. The openings were expected following the September adoption of City Ordinance 1569, which reset the terms of office on the Planning Commission.
All five planning commissioners currently serving may reapply for their seats if desired.

Planning Commission slots are volunteer positions, with commissioners meeting at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month.
The City of Banning is also accepting applications to fill two seats on the Parks & Recreation Commission, which are coming available due to term expirations.
The chosen candidates will serve beginning February 1, 2021 through January 31, 2025. Like planning commissioners, parks & recreation commissioners are volunteers who serve at the pleasure of City Council.
The Parks & Recreation Commission meets the third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. (except for the months of July, August, and December).
All Planning Commission and Parks & Recreation Commission candidates must be Banning residents and provide proof of residency. All applicants will be fingerprinted and must be able to pass a background investigation.
The application and qualifications regarding all positions are available at the Information Desk at the Banning Civic Center, 99 E. Ramsey Street, or may be downloaded on the Cityās website at www.banningca.gov.
The deadline to submit an application to the Banning City Clerkās Office is 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
