City Of Beaumont And Police Department Reach Agreement

The Beaumont City Council approved a two-year labor agreement between the City of Beaumont and the Beaumont Police Officers Association.

BANNING-BEAUMONT, CA - From the City of Beaumont: On Tuesday, August 21, 2018, the Beaumont City Council approved a two-year labor agreement between the City of Beaumont and the Beaumont Police Officers Association (POA). The agreement follows a months long negotiation process to reach an agreement that is fair to both its employees and the taxpayers who pay for their services.

In summary, the POA and the City have agreed to an immediate pay raise of 10% for sworn classifications and 5% for non-sworn support classifications. The compensation package that the City and POA have agreed to is competitive within the Inland Empire. The salary increases are a portion of an overall benefits package that include CalPERS retirement benefits, a $1,500 monthly health care allowance, education, and certificate incentives, wellness reimbursements, bilingual pay as well as paid leave.

ā€œBeing fiscally responsible and ensuring the safety of our community are two of the highest goals we can reach for as the stewards of our citizens. We are pleased to converge these two primary objectives in this agreement. We have a great force from top to bottom and with this agreement and our support on training enhancements and needed equipment we look forward to a future that benefits all of our community,ā€ stated Mayor Carroll.
