City to Unveil 15 New Additions to Beaumont's Memorial Wall

The Veteran's Memorial Wall honors deceased military personnel who lived in Beaumont or Cherry Valley while on active duty or who died later in those communities after their military service ended, according to the city.

This Memorial Day, a total of 15 names will be added to the veterans memorial in front of Beaumont's city hall, city officials announced.

The Veteran’s Memorial at Beaumont Civic Center honors those who served our nation and lived in either Beaumont or Cherry Valley, and died either while serving or upon returning home.

"As a city, Beaumont respects the enormous sacrifices made by those serving in our armed forces," City Spokeswoman Ashley Starr said.  "It is with pride that we inscribe on the Memorial for families the name, rank and military branch of their loved one."

Monday's ceremony begins at 11 a.m. and the public is encouraged to attend.

"Please join us as we honor and pay tribute to these special members of our community," Starr said.

To date, more than 200 names have been inscribed on the wall, according to city officials.  It was built in 2002.
