Coroner IDs 19-Year-Old Killed In Moreno Valley Crash

Three vehicles were involved in the Monday collision.

MORENO VALLEY, CA – A 19-year-old driver was killed and two others suffered minor injuries early Monday in a three-vehicle collision in Moreno Valley.

The crash was reported at 1:12 a.m. at Lasselle Street and Kentucky Derby Drive, said Tawny Castro of the Riverside County Fire Department.

"The first arriving engine company reported a three-vehicle traffic collision with one of the vehicles on its side," Castro said.

Marvin Aleman-Escobar of Moreno Valley was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Riverside County coroner.

The two patients with minor injuries, both drivers of vehicles involved in the crash, were taken to hospitals.
A light pole was struck during the collision and Southern California Edison and Moreno Valley Public Works were dispatched to repair the damage, Castro said.

Lasselle Street was closed to traffic between Avenida De Plata and Kentucky Derby Drive for several hours while authorities investigated the crash.

It's unclear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.
