Coroner IDs Victims Of Double-Fatal Crash on IE Mountain Road

The bodies of two men, both of Fontana, were discovered near the scene of what appeared to be an offroad crash.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — The bodies of two men found near the scene of a Jurupa Valley offroad crash Monday were identified by the Riverside County Coroner's Bureau.

Guillermo Morales, 41, and Mauricio Juarez, 38, both of Fontana, died on a hillside, according to the coroner's bureau, after notification of next of kin.

The circumstances of their deaths were still under investigation. However, deputies say the bodies of both men were found near a crash in the area in the hills above Sierra Avenue and Karen Lane, near the Oak Quarry Golf Club.

On Monday, at approximately 3 p.m., arriving deputies found evidence of a crash and an unoccupied car from what appeared to be a single-car collision, following a tip of an abandoned vehicle in a ravine at the top of a hill.

The two unresponsive men were found in an open area, and both were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Sgt. Rafael Lopez.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation by the Jurupa Valley Sheriff's Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team. It was unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor.
