Corrupt Mayor Lloyd White and Beaumont City Council Settles WRCOG

The appeal was paid for by citizens. The Press Release has been removed from Beaumont's website.

On May 22, 2014 Orange County Superior Court Judge Hon. David Chaffee ordered the City of Beaumont to pay WRCOG more than $42 Million, plus interest. In a press release Beaumont announced the appeal of the court order. The original Press Release has been removed from Beaumont's website.

Here is a press release updating to the appeal.
"Beaumont appeals WRCOG LawsuitBeaumont, CA - On Monday, September 29, 2014, the City of Beaumont filed its appeal of the Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) lawsuit against the City. The appeal will stay the judgment, thereby barring its enforcement, until the Court of Appeal rules on the validity of the trial court’s decision. Attorneys for the City filed the appeal at the direction of the City Council."

Despite Beaumont citizen paying for the appeals the current corruption scandle continues. With the advise of city attorney John Pinkney Beaumont city council unanimously voted to settle the case. WRCOG settled for less than the judgment with no interest. If WRCOG believed they had a case, Why would WRCOG settle? Council says WRCOG does not want the city to file bankruptcy. Yet, the case will end up costing Beaumont citizens close to $30 million dollars. WRCOG is extremely generous with over $37 million. Since the appeal did not go through. The cases against the seven officials who allegedly embezzled the money will prove if WRCOG had a case or not.
