DUI Checkpoint In Riverside County Results In 1 Arrest, 16 Citations
More than 220 vehicles went through the checkpoint staged at Mission Avenue and Pedley Road.
JURUPA VALLEY, CA — One person was arrested and 16 drivers were cited during a DUI checkpoint in Jurupa Valley on Friday, authorities said.
The checkpoint was staged at Mission Avenue and Pedley Road between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m., resulting in 228 vehicles being screened, including 41 vehicles that underwent secondary screening, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities said one field sobriety test was conducted, and one person was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Sixteen citations were issued to drivers without a license, and one vehicle was impounded during the checkpoint.
Drivers charged with a first-time DUI can face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties and have their license suspended, authorities said.

The DUI checkpoint was funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
