DUI Checkpoint Scheduled In Beaumont Over Labor Day Weekend

BEAUMONT, CA — A DUI checkpoint is planned in Beaumont this weekend, and motorists caught driving impaired and subsequently convicted will face about $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license, authorities announced.
The checkpoint is scheduled from 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, to 1 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at an undisclosed location within city limits, according to the Beaumont Police Department.
DUI checkpoint locations are typically determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes.

During the operation, police officers will look for drivers under the influence of any substances that can impair driving, including alcohol, narcotics, some prescription and over-the-counter medications, and cannabis.
"Drive responsibly — if you’re planning to drink, make sure you have a safe ride home," Beaumont police said.
