The City of San Diego declared Monday Esri User Conference Day to mark the start of the Redlands tech company’s 20th user conference in the city.
San Diego Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer described Esri UC as one of the city’s top economic generators.
The event attracts 17,000 Esri customers and partners worldwide. It runs through Friday at the San Diego Convention Center.
Esri used the occasion to announce the launch of ArcGIS Hub, a product for cities to open data for public input. It was proceeded by partnerships with such cities as Los Angeles and Long Beach, which use their hubs to seek feedback on such issues as graffiti and traffic problems.
Companies announcing new partnerships with Esri during UC week included real estate data firm CoreLogic; aerospace developer Airbus Defence and Space; and satellite imagery company DigitalGlobe.)

Lloyd White works for ESRI as a executive in the software portion of the business. He voted on contracts for city of Beaumont for services from his company from a 3rd party to hide his conflict. He has failed to list ESRI as his employer on his 700 form. WRCOG has a large contract with ESRI for mapping services. He should have never voted to settle the WRCOG Writ of Mandate lawsuit, as he has a direct conflict. ESRI is a privately held business, being such any business in the city or a city contract the dollar threshold is much less. At the May 16th council meeting Lloyd White committed a 1096 violation of the Fair Political Practices Act, Conflict of Interest. He opened the discussion on a agenda item that was for a 3rd party contract for his company, he stated he had no conflict of Interest, but relinquished when told of the conflict by Rebecca Deming Director of Planning. Apparently Lloyd White failed to read the agenda. Another concern was the hiding of this contract in a Consent Agenda Item. The city council and the city attorney should have reported the violation. He was to late stepping out after he discussed the matter.
I recently found out that the City of Beaumont was not using Request Partners complaint system anymore. Seems like maybe Lloyd White wants the city to purchase the software from his company and use it. There was nothing wrong with the current system, but I guess we should watch the agenda items as I think there will be a request to purchase the system that ESRI is pushing at their conference.
