Flood Advisory In Banning, Beaumont: Drivers Cautioned

BANNING, CA — A flood advisory was activated until at least 11 a.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service reported. Minor flooding was anticipated in Banning and Beaumont, as well as across the Pass Area cities due to Tuesday's winter storm, according to the advisory.
Already, mud and debris filtered into the San Gorgonio River in Banning, blocking certain accesses such as to Mias Canyon, according to Twitter reports.

Both El Dorado and Apple burn scars will see minor flooding with rainfall rates expected of between .5 and 1.25 inches per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

Cities most affected by flooding would be San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, Redlands, Yucaipa, Big Bear City, Forest Falls, Mount San Gorgonio, Onyx Summit, Hwy 243 Between Banning And Idyllwild and Lucerne Valley, according to reports.
Meteorologists advised drivers to exercise caution on the roadways as heavy rains settled into both Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.

Remember, turn around, don't drown when entering flooded roads, they advised. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
