A number of people visited the Dorothy Ramon Learning Center in Banning Saturday, to learn about the history of the Pass area.

Along with the exhibit, there were demonstrations on the making of arrowheads and how to dig for pottery shards usually found in archeological sites.

The shards can help experts determine the age of a site, among other things.

Redlands flint knapper James Bowden held a demonstration on how to make the sharp points ancient people used to carve hides and cut meat.

The pieces of obsidian and stone were also used for making arrowheads.
