Emergency crews were working Wednesday afternoon to get the man out of the tree, which is on a mountainside.

Crestline, CA— A man has died in a hang gliding accident in the Crestline area of the San Bernardino National Forest after he apparently got caught in a tree upon launching from a cliffside, Patch is told.

According to Capt. Dan Nelson of the San Bernardino County Fire Department, emergency crews got a call at 1:36 p.m. alerting them to a man who was stuck in a tree.

Units responded to the Crestline Soaring Society Glider Launch on national forest land, and discovered the man still attached to all his glider, tangled in the tree, Nelson said. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.
