Haystack Fire In Beaumont Forces Road Closures, 2nd Such Blaze
The haystack fire Wednesday morning in Beaumont follows one Tuesday night in Menifee.
BEAUMONT, CA — A haystack fire in Beaumont Wednesday morning forced the closure of Beaumont Avenue and Vineland Street.
The blaze reported at 7:49 a.m. was burning in a single-story commercial structure with 1,500 bails of hay at Vineland Street and Beaumont Avenue, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The blaze was "fully involved," the agency said.

The department initially said a 20-foot haystack was burning.
Beaumont Avenue was closed between Cherry Valley Boulevard and Orchard Street. Vineland Street was closed between Ralph Road and Avenida Miravilla, according to the department.

The road closures were estimated to last for four hours.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
The haystack fire follows one Tuesday night in Menifee. According to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, approximately 900 bales of hay caught fire in a storage shed around 5 p.m. in the 33000 block of Nancy Lane. Like the Beaumont blaze, the haybales were "fully involved with fire" when crews arrived.
There was no structure threat in the Menifee blaze and there were no reported injuries, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The Menifee fire was contained at 10 p.m., the agency said.
