Hiker Sexually Assaulted On RivCo Mountain Trail

RIVERSIDE, CA — A woman hiking in the Mount Roubidoux area Tuesday reported she was sexually assaulted, Riverside Police said.

Officers arrived at the trail just after 4:45 a.m. to find the hiker near where she says the attack occurred near the trailhead, at San Andreas and Glenwood Drive.

According to police reports, she said she was entering a trail in the area when she was confronted by a slender-built man in his early to mid-20s wearing dark clothing.

Neither details of the attack nor the woman's condition were immediately released.

Police have asked any witnesses in the attack to notify Detective Daniel Suarez at (951) 353-7120.
