Historic Los Rios Rancho Apple Farm Ravaged By Fire

OAK GLEN, CA — An historic apple farm in Oak Glen caught fire early Friday morning, and multiple buildings on the property were damaged or destroyed in the blaze, fire officials reported.
The four-alarm fire at Los Rios Rancho located in the 39600 block of Oak Glen Road was reported at approximately 2:15 a.m., according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
A statement of the farm's Facebook page said the Los Rios store barn, kitchen, historic packing barn and other adjacent buildings were lost in the blaze.

"We don’t yet have the words to describe this devastating loss. Fifteen years of family memories and over 100 years of history," the statement read. "Please keep our family and staff in your prayers as we pick up the pieces and try to rebuild this beloved part of our lives."
According to statement, the blaze was not attributed to the El Dorado Fire, although fire officials have yet to release a cause.

Established in 1906, Los Rios Rancho has been an annual fall destination for many locals and visitors alike. A Riley family enterprise, the farm was in the middle of ramping up activities, including harvest season. Read more about the farm's iconic history here.
There were no immediate reports of injury due to the fire.
