BANNING, CA — A homeless woman who the Banning Police Department alleged attacked one of its officers remained jailed Wednesday after pleading not guilty to charges against her.

Christina Noemi Rodriguez, 28, pleaded not guilty on Aug. 12 to resisting/deterring an officer and assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer — both felonies. She remains jailed at Banning's Larry D. Smith Correctional in lieu of $25,000 bail and is due back in court on Aug. 23 for a felony settlement conference, court and jail records show.

On the same court date, Rodriguez is scheduled for a trial readiness conference on unrelated vehicle code violations of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol for which she has pleaded not guilty, court documents show.
