Large Power Outage Hits Beaumont

BEAUMONT, CA — More than 1,700 people were without power in Beaumont on Thursday afternoon, Southern California Edison reports. The outage occurred around 2:20 p.m. and affected a total of 1,783 customers at the peak.

However, by 5 p.m., SoCal Edison reported that power had been restored to nearly everyone.

The outage was mostly affecting the Sundance community, off of Highland Springs.

The cause is under investigation.
