Last Weekend of our Lavender Festival ~ The Beauty of the Lavender ~ in our Own Backyard

Lavender Festival ~ Rows and Rows ~ Fields of Lavender at Highland Springs in Cherry Valley, and I will for Serenity spend some time at this years Annual Festival.

Last week I went out to Highland Springs Resort and took these pictures, it is beautiful, serene ~ worth the drive if you are driving from out of town.  If you are local, and this is your first visit, or you are from out of town the off ramp is: Highland Springs, North - all the way to the end, past San Gorgonio Hospital, past our beautiful pastures, round the bend and there you are.  This is the last weekend of the Lavender Festival - Saturday June 21st, and Sunday June 22nd; admission $5.  

Lavender Festival, my thought ~ besides the scent of lavender, what is a lavender festival.  After speaking with those that had been to the festival, I was told the lavender is incorporated ~ yes into gifts, but also into foods, at times into wines. So I was interested to see exactly what I would find ~ so this last weekend I went, and I enjoyed the beauty of the San Gorgonio pass, the beauty of lavender, and the festivities of our festival, and the many ways lavender was incorporated here in our own backyard.  As Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz found out ~ the beauty, and the serenity of our ~ Lavender Festival ~ the beauty, and serenity is in our own backyard.
