Local Band Closes Out Beaumont Concert Series
Beaumont based Rude Boy will perform, along with youth bands they have instructed during its summer Rock Star Academy.

After hosting musical acts ranging from Switchfoot to Taylor Dayne, the Beaumont Summer Concert Series will close out with some local flavor.
Rude Boy is comprised of Beaumont natives Jason Nutter, Dan "D-Rock" Racadio and Adair Cobley.
Racadio says the trio will be augmented by additional musicians to achieve a bigger sound. And while their image may not fit the part, the concert will focus on early 90s R&B, while throwing in some modern tunes from the likes of Pink and Beyonce.
"We don't look like we play R&B, but we're going to throw it down," said Racadio.

The long-time friends also started the local Music Lab and the Rock Star Academy, which launched this summer for middle and high school students.
"The kids didn't even really know each other, but we split them into three groups based on age and they would go to three classes every Sunday," said Racadio.

The three classes focused on songwriting, live music and band management, which included everything from finding a name and image to making flyers for band promotion, according to Racadio.
"We want them to take these tools and try to keep this band going," he added.
As the culmination to their six-weeks of studies, the three youth bands formed out of the Rock Star Academy will open Wednesday's show. Each band -- Breaking System featuring kids age 7 to 12, all-girl middle school band Almost Famous and high school band Paradise Lake -- will perform one original song and one cover song.
A flyer on the Music Lab Facebook page is declaring the concert a "Glowstick Dance Party," and encourages people to wear bright colors and come ready to dance.
The show begins at 7 p.m. at Stewart Park in Beaumont. Admission is free and people are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and food. Market Night will be also be running so food vendors will be on hand.
Pass Transit's Route 40 will be servicing downtown with shuttle stops at the Stewart Park.
