Man Arrested for Firearm and Drug Possession in Cabazon
Sheriff's deputies conducted an occupied vehicle check and found Benjamin Delgado with a gun and drug paraphernalia.

A man was arrested Sunday in Cabazon when sheriff’s deputies found him with a gun and drug paraphernalia.
Benjamin Delgado, 31, of Banning, ran from deputies after they conducted an occupied vehicle check on his car at 10:16 a.m. near Apache Trail and Main Street, just off the I-10 freeway near the Morongo Casino.

Once caught, the sheriffs found an empty gun holster and methamphetamine on his person, as well as a loaded .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun in the glove compartment of his car, said Sgt. Richard Carroll of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Delgado, who was sought on a felony warrant, was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition and possession of a controlled substance while in possession of a loaded firearm, Carroll said.

Delgado was booked at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
