NFL St. Louis Rams Seized the Day ~ Finally Round 7/Pick 249 ~ Michael Sam

NFL 2014 Draft ~  Michael Sam, has been drafted , by the St. Louis Rams. Yes, the Rams have seized the day, and drafted 6'2" - 261" Michael Sam to be their Designated Pass Rusher. Sam was the St. Louis Rams 279th pick for the NFL 2014 Draft ~ and this weeks question was whether Michael Sam was going to be picked - or be a Free Agent.  You see Sam is the first openly gay NFL Player, my question  should this have been a question, in this world of diversity?  To me no, however a week after Sterling's debacle , who knew.  In this day of money, and financial sponsorship/endorsements no one knew.  The St. Louis Rams seized the day, they took a great opportunity, and chose a player on his merits.  I am so proud of the Rams.

Sam is from Galveston Texas, but can be considered a fellow Missourian, in that he graduated from the University of Missouri, and was awarded the 2013 SEC, South Eastern Conference Award which he shares with C.J. Mosley of the University of Alabama. Sam's stats: 11-5 Sacks; 19.0 tackles for loss in 2013. His height seems to be a key which may have played a factor in his late draft pick, however he is an excellent player which also could not be overlooked. He is known for his quickness, his hands and his efforts. Two Rams teammates he most definitely will be working with are:  All American Defensive End - Chris Long, and Defensive End Robert Quinn.  This is Football we are talking about, a sport yes, but a job Michael Sam was hired to do.  This ~ Defensive Player of the Year, 2013 ~ is now hired by the St. Louis Rams to ~ Suit up and Show Up ~ just like any other player, regardless of creed, color.  

America gives us opportunities, opportunity for all.  Our job to go out there and prove ourselves, sometimes on a daily basis.  Go out there draftee Michael Sam and do your job, excel, go beyond and that is what you will be judged on ~ your work. Make that impact out on the field ~ make  the Rams proud, make yourself proud!  I say excel because that is what we do, Americans are achievers, over achievers.  That is what you have already done, you have proven that ~ that is what you have already shown, give no less ~ and collect no ego.
