Oktoberfest In Beaumont Rescheduled Due To Line Fire: 2024

Don't put the beer steins away just yet... Oktoberfest in Beaumont has only been rescheduled to November for 2024. Here's what to know.

BEAUMONT, CA — The 34th Annual King Ludwig's Oktoberfest in Beaumont-Cherry Valley has been rescheduled for November 1 through 3, officials say.

The three-day event will now be held at Noble Creek Regional Park, 650 W. Oak Valley Parkway in Beaumont, from 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, from 12 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, and from 12 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3.

Admission to the family-friendly Oktoberfest event is free, though there is a daily parking fee of $5 per vehicle, payable with cash or card at the park's west entrance.

Originally scheduled for the beginning of October, the Beaumont Oktoberfest plans were delayed due to the site's use as a command post during the Line Fire. That massive blaze began on Sept. 5 and has since ignited more than 43,890 acres.

"Noble Creek Regional Park is always ready to be used as a fire camp," according to a park department spokesperson. "The Line Fire burning in the nearby San Bernardino Mountains caused our park to be designated for use as a Fire Camp on September 7, 2024. That meant all regularly scheduled activities and events here at the park were canceled until further notice as fire-fighting resources of all types and sizes moved in. Numerous agencies from across the country joined forces to battle the Line Fire and used our park as their incident command post."

Approximately 3,000 firefighters and personnel moved onto Noble Creek’s fields within days, turning it into their self-sustaining home base for the duration of the incident.

"We are proud to have a spot large enough and with enough of the special features needed to allow so much heavy equipment to be parked here to join the fire effort," they said.

Due to the fire's unpredictability, the city postponed our Oktoberfest to November 1-3, 2024.

"The extra time allows us to utilize more time and preparation to get our fields back in shape after the last crews from the firefight leave the park," they said. "An event the size of our annual Oktoberfest takes lots of time and prep for setup. Moving the event to the first weekend of November was a no-brainer in light of other events around the community and scheduled events for our park."

As usual, the event will be held on Field 1, under the white tents.

"Just like the 33 years before this, we're going to enjoy great food, live music on stage, German bands, Stein holding and log sawing contests, Weiner dog races, a kids zone and competitions, Oktoberfest dance performances, King Ludwig and the Burgermeister, vendor booths, THE BIERGARTEN and more.

"We're striving to make this event authentically German, including real German food, German music, traditional Oktoberfest competitive events, beautiful photo opportunities, and more!

Want to dress up? Go ahead!

According to a news release from the park's department, "Come in your favorite lederhosen or dirndl—traditional German attire is always welcome and encouraged but not required.
