
BANNING, CA – Banning police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital late Wednesday night. Officials say he was shot in the leg and is expected to recover.
The man, who was not identified, called police around 11:53 p.m. Wednesday to report the shooting had happened in the 1100 block of West Ramsey Street, according to a press release from the Banning Police Department.
"Officers arrived and conducted an extensive area search with assistance from allied agencies, in an effort to locate any suspects," police said.

The man was treated at the scene and then taken to the hospital for additional care.
Police tell Patch they don't know if the incident is gang related, as information provided by the victim was limited.
