UPDATE: Police, Fire, Paramedics Respond to Heat-Related Incident in Banning
A man was apparently overcome by heat Monday and declined trasnport to a hospital, Banning police Chief Leonard Purvis said.
Updated 4:25 p.m. A man was overcome by heat Monday at 4th and Ramsey streets in Banning, and police, fire and ambulance personnel responded.
The man apparently suffered a heat-related seizure but he declined to be transported to a hospital, Banning police Chief Leonard Purvis said.
A police corporal drove the man to his home where he would be cooler, Purvis said.

The incident was unfolding about 1:30 p.m., a witness told Banning-Beaumont Patch.
It was 98 degrees in Banning at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. today, Tina Stall of the National Weather Service said.

Updated 3:15 p.m. A witness said there was a man lying on the sidewalk with a group of 10 to 12 people gathered around him, about 1:30 p.m. Monday at 4th and Ramsey streets.
"A small car came speeding up to the corner , a man got out and went to the fellow lying on the sidewalk, he then left the scene rather quickly," the witness said.
Police, fire and ambulance personnel arrived moments later, the witness said.

Police appeared to have a male individual on the ground.
