Protesters Shut Down 60 Freeway Ramps In Moreno Valley

The demonstrators gathered to protest against police brutality in the wake of the in-custody death of George Floyd.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — The Day Street and Frederick Street/Pigeon Pass Road ramps from the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway in Moreno Valley were closed Tuesday night for protest activity, Caltrans announced via Twitter shortly after 7 p.m.

Hundreds of protesters were reported in the area of Moreno Valley Community Park to demonstrate against police brutality in the wake of the in-custody death of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, in Minneapolis on Memorial Day.

Although there is no countywide curfew Tuesday night, the city of Moreno Valley ordered one starting at 8 p.m. There are no reports of violence stemming from the protest and Riverside County sheriff's deputies have ordered the crowd to disperse.
