JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A man suspected of fatally stabbing a 40-year- old Jurupa Valley resident during a confrontation on the north end of the city was behind bars Friday.

He said witnesses spotted Navarro down in the street and called 911.

Paramedics and deputies reached the location a short time later. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Central Homicide Unit detectives identified Corrales as the alleged assailant later that day, and he was tracked to the area of Vernon Avenue and 40th Street, where he was taken into custody without incident Thursday evening.

No further details about the alleged attack, including a possible motive, were disclosed.
