Residents Share Personal Histories at Story Night

Locals tell their stories at the San Gorgonio Pass Historical Society event

Daren Fultz, pictured left, describes how and why his family moved to Beaumont in the early 1950s at the Sept. 13 San Gorgonio Pass Historical Society’s Story Night. Seated next to him are his wife, Ana Maria Figueroa Fultz, center, and Janelle Poulter, right, who each also shared their individual families’ local histories. The evening began with a photographic presentation by John McLaughlin, a third-generation area resident, about growing up in the San Gorgonio Pass. Historical society members also gathered for a group photo after the storytelling. The society’s next meeting is Thursday, Oct. 11, 7 p.m., at Beaumont Woman’s Club – all meetings are open to friends/non-members – and will feature a presentation by Steve Lech, Riverside County historian and columnist.
